I stayed at the deluxe suite, the best room for this ecolodge... the room was nice the attention very good but the price is extremely high in comparison the offer... it does not fit our expectations, there was not contact with the nature.... and besides, there was not light during the night.... as a summary.... its a very very overrated place. I will not come back paying those prices.
It is a rather large hotel for not a lot of rooms (7 in total?). The deck is gorgeous with bird feeders and hammocks to watch the feathered friends fly in and out. There is no pool but a very warm jacuzzi for all residents. We slept in a Junior suite and it was spacious enough. Since I didn't want a private jacuzzi on my deck I think we had the best room.
The meal we had was home cooked and the staff is very friendly.
Although everything was there from good towels to complementary water in the room, from the jacuzzi to the bird watching I felt a little 'lost'. We were the only guests and it felt as if we were the only guests in a long time... For no good reason I may add, it is a lovely place, so let's all go out there and liven this place up!
This lodge is far away from anything so be prepared to bring a book or your computer to keep occupied but if like us, you came to decompress from an insane year, it's totally worth your time. The lodge is remote but the view is amazing and it's so peaceful. I spent hours swinging in the hammock looking at the trees and birds...while waiting for someone to arrive. We got there a few hours early (not recommended) and were lucky enough to be let in by a worker to enjoy the restaurant area while we waited.
We stayed in the junior suite and it's very comfortable. The bed is great, the fans keep the room cool and the bathroom is comfortable, although I couldn't really get the hot water to work but that was fine. There is Netflix and wifi and there are people who can make food and coffee for you. The dinner was okay and a little pricey but the breakfast was so delicious and fresh,
I would come back if we were ever in Panama again - just for the view. <3
I booked the deluxe suite, when i arrived got told that this room was booked for another couple, seems like they have issues on their management since i did call them on the morning and didn't told me anything about this, I lost around 4 hours travelling, the booked the deluxe suite as a surprise for my wife. The owner told me they could reallocate me to a junior suite, it would have been better that he told me that the suite was already booked before waiting until i arrive there and trying to sell me another room.
On the other hand to be honest the site is pretty much amazing and clean also the staff is good, they should only try to manage better their bookings to avoid ruining the experience for anyone else, call them before booking to avois any issue
We just spent four days at La Semilla with our daughter who is studying in Panama. Our objective was to get away and relax. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful hideaway. Although English speaking was limited, Eduardo used a translator app and made sure we always had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing. The food was excellent and priced fairly. They obviously have gone to great effort to make the place comfortable. Very high quality beds and sheets, dehumidifier and fan in room, high quality building materials, drinking water provided in the rooms, etc. I think that reviews I read that expressed disappointment didn't read the website carefully. It's clear that this is not close to an airport (we had a rental car and google maps found it fine). The features like the Jacuzzi are lovely and there are not a multitude of activities but it's intended to be that way. It's a relaxing retreat in the rainforest. We highly recommend. Well done!
