We came here as the first part of a two centre holiday and spent four nights. This was our very first "snowy" adventure and I am bound to say that it was a fantastic adventure. The hotel was very well appointed and the rooms (Widerness+suite ) was spacious and well equipped with a mezzanine for sleeping and the ground floor for comfortable seating or a sofa bed. The food was good and varied especially the fish dishes and drink reasonably priced for a Nordic country (though we didn't drink very much - too tired after the activities). The staff and guides were very friendly and knowledgeable and the excursion were excellent. We did things we had never done before like dog-sledding, snowmobiling and snow-shoeing. We also went to the sister hotel in Jeris to use the fantastic saunas and plunge into the ice cold lake afterwards (better than it sounds :) We saw the Lights but only briefly and through cloud so not a spectacular display (we did see them at the second venue). All in all a fabulous experience and thanks to the team at Harriniva for making it so. The only thing I would say is that there were no toiletries in the bathroom (luckily we bought our own) and the nature of the suite with the bedroom being on the mezzanine and the bathroom on the ground floor meant a precarious excursion to the loo in the middle of the night for those of a certain age ;) Having said that we would not hesitate in coming back agin to these beatiful winter surroundings in Finnish Lapland and the friendly laid-back Finns.

We had a great holiday experience staying at this hotel. Rooms are cosy warm with an attached wet room. Food was brilliant and they catered for our gluten free friend very well. Wine and other alcohol was very reasonably priced and free tea, coffee and hot chocolate was available all day and evening. The equipment we were loaned for all our experiences was first class, very high quality and clean. You really don't need to bring anything.

I would absolutely reccomend this hotel to anyone wanting a winter activity holiday.
Everything from arrival to departure was excellent.
Very welcoming staff always happy to see you and friendly.
Our room was lovely and comfortable and lovely and warm. Bathroom had a heated floor so nice and toasty.
The food was very tasty we had breakfast and dinner included we were both very happy with everything we had. We also paid to have lunch as well.
Hotel was lovely and clean.
We also had included excursions Huskie safari and panorama snowmobile safari. Our guides were all very good.
The Huskies are well looked after.
We also booked to go to arctic sauna world at hotel jeris we really enjoyed it we did the evening and the saunas were lovely and quiet then I went for a dip in the ice lake. Very refreshing.
We also booked snow shoe and auroa hunting. Lady Aurora was very happy to show her best light show it was amazing and our guide was excellent he was called jan and it was his first solo group tour.
Also the warmth gear that is provided is excellent.
This holiday was magical I have memories to treasure forever.
Thank you hotel harriviana.
Absolutely fantastic.

Loving the simplicity of the place, friendliness of their staff, the freezingly cold weather, yet warmth of the room.

Nothing fancy, but the real adventures in the snow safaris. Alaskan huskies are so cute and energetic. They're set to sky rocket once you lift your feet off the sledge. Ha ha ha... so much fun on the huskies sledge, snowmobile, reindeer sleigh, snow shoeing.

Amazing people from other parts of Europe working here full of passion.

Questions & answers about the rooms

Answer from 231Cat123

There are hair dryers in all rooms. Take several thin layers that you can easily add or take off, rather than relying on one or two thick layers. Wool is very good at keeping you warm, one large pair of woolly socks is better than several thin synthetic pairs, for example. Take goggles and hand/toe warmers as it can be very cold. If you are out on organised activities then the centre provides most of the kit that you need; snow suits, hats, socks, mittens etc, just make sure that you take your own good quality base layers and a coat, hat and gloves for the airport transfer. Jogging bottoms are also very good for wearing over base layers and under the snowsuits. If you're away for several nights on the husky trip, then there won't be electricity, so take spare batteries if you are keen to get lots of photographs, and remember to keep them somewhere warm when you aren't using them; they drain very quickly! Don't bother taking baby wipes as they will freeze solid, you can wash in the sauna if you're out on the overnight trips with the huskies/snowmobiles. Have fun, it's an amazing place!
