Clean, friendly, COVID-19 secure. Breakfast good portions, service slower Tuesday-Friday than Friday-Monday. Leisure (pool) good, well managed with booking system (1hr).
Booked executive room. Nice and larger with 2 sofas, coffee table, desk, TV.
Bathroom has a shelf above basin which protrudes so far out you can’t get your face near the basin to wash or splash water on.
Bear in mind this is mainly a Golf hotel so plenty of golfers around, and outside your patio doors (from our room) in the morning!
Basic ensuite amenities although a little dated. Rooms so far have had 2 single beds combined to create a double. Walls are thin so noise from golf groups and other guests can travel.
There us wifi and a small tv, coffee making facilities in your room.
Due to covid restrictions bar is table service only. Restaurant offers fixed price 3 course and coffee gor £25.
There us a gym, pool and 2x18 hole golf courses but not gad time to use these yet. Back again tomorrow....
Read some of the reviews and was a bit apprehensive, shouldn’t have been. Ok the rooms are a bit dated and could do with some tlc (Room 19 bathroom needs some work) but the hotel is a base and not the centre piece of a holiday. Hotel Staff, all excellent, serving staff, all excellent, cleaning team diligent and excellent. WiFi in rooms great so kids happy. COVID controls in restaurants followed and not simply paid lip service. Shame that COVID must be crippling business, but the Hotel are doing their best for their guests. They even made something off-menu for my 6 year old which she polished off with gusto. Lots of golfers, but non-golfers not treated any differently. Great swimming pool - must book in advance. No saunas operating, but given COVID that’s understandable. Can’t understand the posted critiques of staff attitude as we faced nothing but a smiling and helpful team. Good luck through these troubled times would visit again. Rooms quiet and no noise from outside or neighbours (Room 19). Huge car park, easy reach of Norwich and plenty of supermarkets nearby for those forgotten holiday essentials, in our case raincoats 😁. Would not have thought about coming here in normal times but would do so again if I’m this neck of the woods.
Excited for mini break with family of 4 (kids 13 & 16). Booked family room. As we pulled up were gutted, hotel looks like bit run down travellodge. Receptionist couldn't have been less bothered, no "have a great stay" etc.
Walking up to room someone on here wrote its like a care home or youth offending hostel and they're right!
Room was basic and dated and needed updating; waterstains on most surfaces.
Bathroom was crappy, not seen taps like this since 1985!
Bar / restaurant end much nicer but still dining experience felt bit meh and quite costly. View from there nice though. CD kept sticking adding to the overall naffness.
Pool clean, Jacuzzi good. No sauna or steam due to covid restrictions?
Breakfast booked up so no room for us..went to 'Spoons' for £13 and ate better.
Overall more 'motorway hotel' than country club.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here yesterday (15/8/2020) and very disappointed with the lack of customer service skills with all your staff, starting with the receptionist not very welcoming at all was more interested in taking our money for the room and didn't seem interested in serving us. The rooms are spacious but definitely need a revamp throughout the whole hotel very outdated. We phoned up a few days before our arrival to check if the swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms were open and if we have to pre-book a slot for this which a lady we spoke to on the phone advised us everything was open and we get a hour slot on our own due to Covid19 only 1 household are allowed in the leisure centre at a time. When we went into the swimming pool another 6 separate households turned up which I can't see how that is social distancing! Our evening meal we was served by various staff who had no customer service skills and we are still waiting for our jug of water that we asked for about 20 hours ago by 2 different members of staff including the manager! The food was really nice but definitely over priced for the portions that you receive. We went for breakfast as we paid extra for this, on arrival a waitress came over and offered us drinks which we was impressed on how quickly she came over but once again they then let themselves down by us having to prompt a member of staff after 15 minutes of waiting to order our food! I have worked in customer service job roles for over 12 years now and I would be sacked if I treated my customers like they treated us at this hotel! All we can say is that we won't be returning and feel very disappointed on a weekend that we was looking forward too.
