Stayed here recently for 3 nights, we have stayed in 3 other campsites this summer and Lakeside toilets are the cleanest. They are constantly cleaned and you have to book the showers as they clean them after family use.
The pitches are very spacious and loads of room to play. Kids loved the diving board, tennis courts and football pitch. Will definitely return again.
Had emailed them several times for a spot tenting. Got no reply on email. I then rang and was told there was plenty of room and they would confirm. Had all the family ready to go down today only to be told over the phone again there was no room now so basically ruined out family weekend away
Spent 2 nights at the lakelands Holiday homes.
It was very spacious, it sleeps 6 people. ( one single room has a pull out bed under the main bed so that can be used for a kids room who are ok sharing) . One main double bed room, and one room with 2 single beds. All fairly large rooms.
The livingroom /kitchen area also very large, which leads out onto a decking.
One thing to note the bedrooms are on the bottom level, kitchen/livingroom are upstairs. Only downside to this there's no toilets on top level.. For anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs this can be an issue.
Owners allow dogs, which is great.
The harbour is a ten minute walk, nice park 15 min walk.
The town itself is very small, has 2 nice pubs with a small restaurant upstairs in the larger one. Food was reasonably priced and very nice.
Also a lovely coffee shop near by, also serves nice food.
Not much to do in the town otherwise but only a short drive to its neighbouring towns on the lake also.
Friendly and relaxed family run site. Ideal for families and couples. Great for waters sports ideal kayaking as the access is easy.
Good shower blocks, laundry room and campers kitchen.
2 pubs in nearby village with friendly welcome.
Would highly recommend.
Just back after 2 nights, unfortunately we had the wettest night all summer on our first night. We were a party of two tents, we arrived after out friends, their checkin was informative, given a map etc ours was more lax(I think it may have been the owner), you pick your own pitches which does have its advantages but if it’s your first time on site a little guidance would help. You can pitch by the lake which are beautiful but no electricity and as our weather wasn’t great can be a couple of degree cooler. We pitched at the camping green there was plenty of room. There was a block of toilets and showers close by all cleaned on a regular basis and no queue for showers. On the green is a number of shelters some with tables and benches which are used for cooking and sitting by the fire pits (rented 5 eur per night) & extra for wood which was invaluable with the inclement weather. The campers kitchen could do with an update but it does have tables and chairs and tv so possible to eat inside. There’s a separate wash up kitchen which is much newer and very clean and a laundry room. We swam in the lake used the diving board. There’s a tennis court and table tennis available. The site is in a beautiful setting, campers were very friendly. They are doing a bit of renovation do it will be interesting to see what the site looks like next year.
