It's a 2 star hotel with a lot of potential, but it seems it lacks improvement. Located nor far from public transportation, the street isn't the most welcoming; staff seems to be missing at certain hours of the day and there's no elevator of your room is an upper one.
In the end, it was ok but it could be better.
You get what you pay for: a bed to lie down almost in the middle of San Francisco. That's what you should expect and nothing else. Staff is friendly and gave us a little room update which was very nice. Excellent for solo or couple travelers who're down to exploring the city and spending time outside the hotel room.
IMPORTANT: Parking available in the streets!!! You will have to work on that, search for some available places and maybe get up a bit early (as I did) but... you'll end up parking your car for 5-10 bux overnight. Totally worth the work/time/lack of sleep put into getting this done.
Not the best environment/neighborhood for late-night dining/partying; many weird and spooky guys in the streets. Also If you're willing to get a good (like: a GOOD) sleep - wear earplugs as there's always something going on in the street.
Overall: I would definitely return in case I need to crush for a couple of hours, have a quick shower and take off for activities.
P.s. Although the room is non-smoking, in the corridors you can smell some smoke. Not an issue for me, just a tip for others to keep in mind.
Well yes I know this hotel might not be everybody's cuppa tea. I get that. But if you are looking for an absolutely amazing value there is little to complain about in this family-run clean-as-a-whistle hotel located in the heart of the vibrant, sunny Valencia corridor. This restaurant row, which I compare to Paris' Mouffetard district, is ever surprising. It's a place where you can have street food or haute cuisine, whichever you prefer!
And yes you might have an impromptu jam session under your window one night, hey this is the City, go with the flow! (Seriously if the noise gets to be too much, do bring a blindfold and earplugs if you are a light sleeper, especially on weekends.)
The location is an easy walk to the BART 16th Street Station makes coming and going to the airport a breeze, as well as to the Muni to whisk you cheaply around the City.
I do suggest booking a "queen room with bay window" you will find the extra space is welcome. The rooms have a small fridge and a microwave, very handy for those leftover burritos and other delicacies.
People often complain , but they are not at the Hilton! You can see they renovated this place! Evert day clean towels and blankets, they swiffer the Floor and clean the bath room, they refill the coffee pads and change the drinkingcups. The streets are a bit noisy at night, special in weekends and yes unfortunattely you find also homeless people on the street, but we saw them everywhere in San Francisco. If you do not want to see them, go elsewhere! And no we cannot solve this problem for the US.
The price is good and the staff is friendly and of any help anytime!
Perfect bars and restaurants in the neighbourhoud. Manny’s at the corner is a good gendercafe with Organic Food, Pancho Villa is a clean and Healthy Mexican restaurant and we have been to Picaro a Spanish restaurant which was good!
Yes whenever we go to SF again, we will be back here!!👍
This place has been renovated recently. Do not pay attention to the negative reviews. Location is excellent being a couple of blocks from the 16th Street BART station. There are also tons of restaurants and clubs along Valencia street. Puerte Allegre is a block away. Best margaritas in town!!
