My partner and I stayed for one night between Christmas and New Year on our way from Nice to Valencia and we loved our stay. The hotel is extremely charming, all made of stones and original fixtures. Our room was quite big and the bathroom had a bath, which was welcome after an entire day travelling. The hotel is very clean and quiet and the staff is also very friendly. The bedroom was quite dark and the bed was comfortable with very soft sheets. They even left some nibbles from their gourmet restaurant for us to enjoy as a free treat. Nice touch! All of that for only 125€ via Booking.com so cheap for a 4 star hotel really! We loved the location and ate at their restaurant so not sure how convenient it would be to reach another restaurant.
The late medieval building has been beautifully modernised, trying to keep as many features as possible. Although its beside a busy road, the excellent double glazing means that you are virtually unaware of it (and our room had a window near the road side). The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely pool area too - great for relaxing after a day walking around the area. The restaurant is also also excellent.
Spent 2 nights here in December 2018. I was alone exploring Catalonia for investment. I was looking forward to great food and I was not disappointed. The staff was great. The grounds perfect. My room was wonderful. Breakfast was excellent. For dinner I had the tasting menu. A few of the courses were not common to me, but delicious. I was impressed by the kitchen overall. A couple staff deserve special mention. Noelia was so genuinely kind and helpful. Otto had the most helpful and detailed explanations of the area for my cycling ambitions. He was very helpful whenever I needed anything. I am thankful. I really enjoyed my stay here and will come back and recommend to friends.
We spent two pleasant nights here in a first floor room facing the garden and mountains. It was quiet and peaceful, the rustic environment having been renovated to a high standard.
A special thanks to the young man on the reception desk, sorry we didn't catch his name, but he was friendly, welcoming, helpful and interesting.
On our second night we ate in the hotel restaurant and treated ourselves to the gourmet tapas menu with paired wines - €120 for the two of us - which was an interesting experience. Breakfast was very good, especially the fruit salad and the scrambled egg, but we had to skip it on the second morning as we were returning to the airport.
A couple of minor niggles - the water temperature of the shower was variable, one minute too hot and the next it had turned cold. More surprising, with the quality of this establishment, is that the drinking glasses in the room were of the disposable plastic variety, something that would be easily rectified.
Stayed in Es Portal restored farmhouse near Pals for 3 nights mid September.
Secured room with Booking.com and again disappointed as usually least favourable ( 101 )

Superb cuisine n the best G n T ‘s ever ! Not cheap at €22 for 2 but the presentation ....... was an occasion in itself.
