Booked into the hotel for a 3 night break. The staff were very good and helpful. Room was 116 on the ground floor and was kept in good order but a few signs of wear which is acceptable given the closure due to covid lockdown.
Breakfast was as good as you will get anywhere.
Parking is right outside so no distance to the entrance.
Dining room was pristine condition as were the grounds.
The hotel is not very sound proof due to its age and some noise from above due to wooden flooring rather than a more modern hotel with concrete floors.
All in all, it is a good hotel bearing in mind it is also quite low cost.
Yes, i would stay here again if wanting a short break in this area.

Room Tip: No lift that i could see so bear in mind a ground floor room will be easier for luggage.

Not impressed, very noisy and rooms in need of TLC. Breakfast good.

Poor room planning from the hotel family in 1st floor room above running round from 7am on a Sunday morning!!!!

Walls and adjoining doors may as well not be there.

Rooms in need of TLC and bathroom needs a clean. Bathroom tiles black and mouldy and had to clean shower head before using it.

Over all disappointing, as they’ve had plenty of time to get the place right and it looks like not been touched in-between lockdowns.

Stayed for one night, glad we hadn't booked for any longer. Food was hit and miss. My food was good, my partners was inedible. Staff here are great however our room was dated and worse of all stunk of old cigarettes. Only found this out after tea as we checked into our room just before tea. At times the smell was so bad it did make us feel slightly sick. Shower started to uncontrollably dripp at 5.30am. Rooms and general accommodation could do with an update and freshen up. Beware of the photos online very deceiving.

Well, due to wales just opening up to guests to travel within the Welsh boarders we took the opportunity to come up from South Wales to visit family after being away for over a year.
The Holt Lodge popped up as a very reasonably priced place to stay and after a discussion with a staff member a very good room only deal was agreed for a family room.
Although no meals could be served due to some of the Covid limitations this didn’t hinder us too much, and the fact that the bar was opened for us to consume a much missed draft pint (or two) more than made up for it (obviously taking the drinks away from the bar).

The room was a little tired but still clean and comfortable and the staff were more than helpful and friendly- I actually think that we might have been the only people staying in the entire hotel at the time?? (So no other guest noise at all).

Covid rules were fully explained and the one way system easily to follow. Checkin and checkout were a breeze and parking was absolutely not a problem 🙂

All round pleasant experience for a very reasonable price. 👍🏻

Awful staff, horrible and bad mannered. Bad receipt ion. Made guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Pubic hair found on tap in room 3. Covid markings unclear, left everyone unsafe . Should not remain open

Sorry, can't really answer this as I just dined there, sure it probably is not a problem though if you give them a ring, they will definitely try and look after you
