We were put in a room in a house which wasn’t so much of an issue however the large sky light with no black out blind meant with 3 kids we were awake from 4 as soon as the sun shone through. Not ideal when it’s your youngest sons bday and you have 3 days at a theme park planned. We also heard the staff coming and going who lived in the same house. The manager I spoke to was less than interested and said they hadn’t been to the room which I find very hard to believe. The cleanliness of the room also wasn’t great given all hotels have been closed for 4 months a deep clean wouldn’t have gone a miss. Dust as shown in pics and number of stains in bathroom. Breakfast was great however again the cleanliness of seats and cutlery etc could do with improving. Not exactly a cheap location. Disappointing stay.

Just returned from a two night stay at this lovely welcoming country inn. Very clean comfortable room in the grounds, we was in number 24, the dog was also made welcome. The food was delicious and lots of it and the staff on hand for our every whim.
I would recommend it to everyone I'm sure we'll be going again

I have just returned from a lovely two day break in Derbyshire.
We found our room lovely, the food plentiful, tasty and were given generous portions. As we had been out all day walking it was just what was needed.

The Dog and Partridge is well run, friendly and welcoming surrounded by beautiful countryside.

We stayed for 1 night. The staff were attentive and we really enjoyed the food that was served. We liked the self contained cabins and that you could park right outside. After a full day at Alton Towers we also really appreciated that our small cabin had a bath tub.

We turned the electric radiator off as it was directly underneath the curtains and seemed a little risky to us to sleep like that, so our room was on the chilly side and the walls between the cabins are thin, we could hear everyone leaving in the morning.

That being said our stay was still comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast before leaving.

We stayed here for two nights having booked a day at Alton towers for the family ( two adults my two sons 19 and 14 ) we travelled from Cornwall and arrived at about 8pm , we were warmly welcomed and asked if we would like anything hot from the kitchen which was lovely . The room was warm , clean comfortable with all you need for a comfortable stay , we booked cooked breakfasts at extra costs hot and ample with proper sausages and black pudding ( but well worth the money ) the continental was free and ridiculously generous more like a picnic ( fantastic ) which is all delivered to your door by the lovely staff . We did not eat at this venue but I did see the food that came out of the kitchen looked good . The real ale was great and my husband enjoyed the cider on tap . All in all this place was lovely , friendly warm and welcoming , you can see they are doing all they can with the covid battle . I wouldn’t hesitate to re book or recommend.

You can have your meals in the bar with the dog, or leave him in your room. I hope you decide to come and join us
