We spent here 3 nights and it was a great experience. We enjoy our comfortable and clean room, the good and various breakfast, the relaxing pool, the fitness area and the helpful customer service. Thank you!
This was a family mini-vacation that incorporated site visits and visits with Mom. The 5 of us stayed in a large, clean suite that was very accommodating. The staff was friendly and very helpful. One day, I needed to print out my WDW tickets and had trouble. Joi, the morning front desk supervisor, went out of her way to help me get the printing done. This type of "over the top" service is greatly appreciated. The pool was clean and the breakfast was a the typical HIE layout with no issues. It was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel.
I stayed here for 3 days (Feb. 2018). I have stayed here several times before. I was happy to see that it still was a wonderful, clean, friendly hotel. There is plenty of free parking, and a wonderful, complimentary full breakfast buffet every morning.
Darren was SO nice checking me in. I saw him several times throughout my stay, and he is just so pleasant and professional. Also, the lady who was working the breakfast area alone during the week was wonderful. Everything was fresh and clean, and she was also so nice. Great employees at this hotel.
My room was a big suite with 2 queens, a big desk, a couch and chair. There was plenty of space and the suite was clean (spotless, really). The bathrooms here are great - spacious, CLOTH shower curtains (love that!), and plenty of counter and storage space. There was a microwave and fridge and a fancy-schmancy coffee pot that it took me a while to figure out how to work. :)
There's an outdoor pool (saltwater, I believe) and a gym - I used neither, but the pool was pretty.
The location is good - it's on a long stretch of road between Inverness and Crystal River. It sits far back from the road out in the middle of nowhere, so it's quiet and the grounds are very pretty. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Homosassa State Wildlife Park, about 10 minutes to get into Crystal River, and 5 minutes to Inverness (not walking distance). Very close-by (probably walking distance if you have a lot of energy) is a Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, Super Walmart, and several other stores.
I will continue to come here as I have over the years. It's a nice hotel and most important, clean and friendly. If I had one complaint - it's that housekeeping uses too much perfumey spray cleaner/freshener in the room. Our room was overpowered with a air freshener smell. I am highly sensitive to smells (as are many people). I would just prefer that they use products that are scent-free, including on the sheets. But, that's just me.
My husband and I arrived at the hotel. Upon entering our room, the refrigerator was off and took hours to get cold, no door on the freezer so our frozen dinners that we purchased were thawed out. The bathroom door would not lock because the knob was broken, the toilet leaked all over the floor seeping in through the wall where the toilet paper holder was; after taking a shower it flooded the bathroom because the drains could not except the flow from the shower. Went to use the electric shades on our 1st floor poolside room and they did not work; went to the desk, maintenance came into our room and stated that the motor from the shades were broken and that he could not fix them that evening. Concerned about privacy at night, my husband and I asked for another room, and were told by the maintenance man "NO",. The maintenance man told my husband that it was only one way glass and nobody could see in, but after nightfall my husband went out to the pool area and looked into the window and could see everything. So we put the ironing board and some our luggage in the window just to block the view. This hotel is also pet friendly and our room was infested with fleas. Never again will we stay in this hotel or let any our friends be subjected to the horrors that we went through for one night and most of all the disrespect.
Lots of parking on arrival, free.
Great reception staff allowing us to check in early, the room was large and very comfortable, I think it must of been refurbished recently. The beds were great, blackout blinds on the window and quiet surroundings.
We used the pool outside which was large but needed more regular cleaning, debris and floating insects which the kids hate, I did my best with the pool net and got most out but this shouldn't be a guests job, they should have someone do it everyday, twice a day.
The only negative was that when we were using the pool it was the day that the hotel was having the air con units cleaned and the garden maintained. The noise from a pressure washer, lawn mowers and hedge trimmers was too much when trying to relax.
Location is ideal for the through route to Crystal River, we would stay here again if we are in the area.
