We decided to come visit again to get away from the crazy shut down! We arrived in a Saturday night to find out the information we had been given on the phone was incorrect! When we called to book we were told everything was open at the resort and they were only allowing 50%capacity. Sounds like a win less peeps is always good! Not the case! No restaurants were open at all, fitness center, gift shop, main pool, restaurant downstairs all CLOSED! Disappointing to say the least! The package I purchased said discount breakfast vouchers were included. When I asked about that they said breakfast is not an option. Sunday, only the adult pool was open with half of it blocked off for lap swimming. Everyone staying at the hotel had to use that one pool, which worked out fine. Monday the adult pool was closed and the everybody pool opened with the lazy river and slide opening from 12-4, which was nice, it was like having a pool to ourselves! Because there are no good options Starbucks in the hotel stays busy... a huge shout out to the sweet lady there! She’s by herself and stays busy all day long, sad I didn’t catch her name. Another HUGE asset to the place is Jennie at the pool! She was by herself getting drinks, snacks for e wry one at the pool! Legit never stopped! Amazing worker, I hope they pay her very well & recognize all that she does for them! In the end it’s good that Kierland commons was open for dinners! I love this place, don’t love covid (obviously) but understand that things have to change and hopefully Westin figures out a new plan for guests and their workers!
I stayed for 4 nights and did not have a single night of uninterrupted sleep. There were loud gatherings outside my window for 3 of those nights. We had loud neighbors in the adjacent room one night. The walls are like paper - no sound proofing.
We pre paid but found an additional $35 fee per day tacked on to our bill that we did not expect. This really stung after suffering through the lack of full housekeeping for 4 days per their new policy.
I forgot my toothbrush and a replacement in the hotel shop cost $12 for a simple toothbrush.
Internet was unpredictable. Sometimes fast and other times very slow.
The resort is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly. Everything in the room was in working order.
The gym is tiny but adequate.
This resort is great. Service is attentive, grounds are great. The restaurant off the pool has great breakfast, and the gym is nice. Sunsets here are amazing. This place is a nice place to just get away and enjoy Scottsdale.
We were there for 4 nights for a family reunion. Everything was great. They were very accommodating in getting us all rooms near each other (12+ rooms). Great beds, fast wifi, the bathrooms have great ventilation and don't steam up. Beautiful grounds. Pool was well-stocked, even in January. The lazy river was fun with the kids. Bagpiper at sunset was a nice touch. Walking distance to a huge shopping district. Many bars and restaurants, and a large area for families to gather. The gym was a little small for the many people who wanted to use it, but it was very nicely designed, a good assortment of machines and weights. with great amenties (water, chilled towels, headphones).
Great hotel for a golf trip. Stayed three nights. Perfect location for all of the North Scottsdale courses. Played one day at the Property's courses. It is great too. Service at the hotel and course is outstanding all the way around. Rooms are big, good and quiet! It has a good gym and spa with steam and sauna. Very relaxing place and perfectly set up for a guy's golf trip.
