We Stayed 1 night onroute to scotland ,had a lovely relaxing time in this dog friendly hotel ,our wee dog was warmly welcomed, especially by the young lady in the bar, she even remembered his name at breakfast, which was delicious we paid the extra £4 for the full English. We did not realise we needed to book to use the swimming pool so unfortunately this time we did not get to swim , but we will definitely be returning next time we are visiting Scotland.

Room Tip: Look out for the sign for the hotel at the end of the village sharp right turn at the post office.

We stayed here the night before the Solway half marathon . I wanted to relax in the sauna after the race and sleep in a suite , so I could go into the living room if my snoring kept the Mrs up . So the suite turned out to be just a double bedroom with a couch and bathroom . Not really a suite then . The spa turned out to be a small pool with the sauna and steam room out of use and full of old furniture and other junk . Not really a “spa” then . Charged £215 . At least Dick Turpin wore a mask

Dear Guest, Thank for your taking the time to share you feedback with others. We have reviewed your booking and can confirm you received the room you booked and as advertised. Its disappointing to learn that you did not enjoy our recently refurbished leisure centre like many of our other guests. Our Leisure Centre contains a 12 metre by 8 metre heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna along with a cardio room and weights rooms. Due to Covid restrictions our sauna/ steam room is closed. We hope to be able to open these by the end of the month. Regards,

What a shame! I was so looking forward to a lovely stopover after a long day at work.
The first classic room was filthy, blinds were thick with dust. Room very tired and in need of some love and attention.
Reception were very helpful and moved me, only to find another very tired room, with a filthy carpet,
didn’t look like a vacuum had touched it in a while.
Which makes me worry about COVID compliance, I haven’t seen any hand gel either.
Toiletries are refilled, so again not COVID compliant I would say.
Very noisy room too!
Was also not allowed to use the swimming pool, which was the main reason for choosing, there was no detail at the time of booking that you needed an allocated slot for the pool and they were all gone when I checked in at 3:45.
I won’t recommend this to anyone and I won’t be returning.

Dear Guests, Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay at our hotel. I am sorry to learn that we failed to exceed your expectations and you can be assured that your feedback has been taken on board. With regards to the use of our Leisure Centre due to current Covid regulations we are restricted as to how we operate this and pre booking is a must. This is communicated clearly on our website and we are exploring other ways how to better communicate this to our guests in advance (Hopefully we will only need to do this for a short time more) Your feedback about the dust in your room is of concern as we have recently undertaken a deep clean throughout. It would be much appreciated if you could kindly email me directly the date of your stay and the room you stayed in so I may personally look into this. cmclaughlin@crownhotelwetheral.co.uk You can be assured providing exceptional product and service to all of our guests is at the forefront of what we do. Thank you once again for your feedback and I hope you will choose to stay with us again. Yours sincerely,

I enjoyed a long weekend in the October holidays with my son at this hotel. The food in the Conservatory was beautifully presented and tasty. We had the pan stone bass, goats cheese soufflé, scallops and cheese board. All was extremely delicious and I would recommend this restaurant and the Walton’s bar where we had the fish and chips and chicken burger. My son said it was the best chicken he had ever had! We went back the next night to have the same. The pool and gym were clean and appointments had to be made to ensure social distancing.

Enjoyable overnight stay. Clean fresh and friendly. Pool facilities very well organised despite COVID restrictions. However same could not be said for the rest of the hotel. I appreciate it was busy when we arrived but room keys handed out without any signs of sanitation. Breakfast was rushed and table was wiped over with a damp cloth - no sanitizer. Menu and pots of jams/marmalades were lifted from a used discarded table and placed on ours without cleaning first. When walked to have clean ones staff were very disinterested and shrugged as if it was too much bother. We did get fresh condiments and menu but noticed our second hand discarded one were subsequently placed on anther table!!!!!
Such a shame as this spoiled an otherwise lovely stay.

Dear guest, Thank for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay with us. In respect to your feedback about you feeling that we are not Covid secure I wish to highlight very clearly. The safety of all of our staff and guests is indeed at the forefront of hotel. The standards which we do have in place are as follows: * Sanitising stations at the entrance of our hotel and eateries * PPE policy for all staff * Masks Must be worn when walking around our common areas by all guests *NHS track and trace system *One way system in place * Social distancing floor marking throughout common areas * Pre booking for both breakfast and dinner slots * High quality cleaning system (ECO Lab ) * 3 Step Room cleans which entails Fogging, Cleaning and then finally signed of by head housekeeper whereby she then seals the door shut with a Clean and Sanitised sticker * Decluttered bedrooms *Table service for all bookings * Increased cleaning I hope this gives you some comfort in knowing that we take not only our product, service and standards seriously but also the safety of our staff and guests. On another note I am pleased that your felt all other aspects of your stay was lovely. Yours sincerely, Chris
