I have booked a room that says we can use the spa facilities, do we have to book to use the pool and hot tub or can we just go in when we want?

Such a lovely hotel, staff are genuinely wanting to help you out, nothing is ever too much trouble. Really enjoyed the pool, and the jaccuzi outside is a nice touch.
Although a bit of confusion round the DB&B rate we were on, the evening food was delicious, and a really nice touch with the live music!
people exercising to music outside on the lawns.during the day. Just a really pleasant place.

Such a happy place, thank you all

The hotel itself is lovely, rooms clean however check in time was moved from 2pm to 3pm, tried to check in at 2.45 was told had to wait until 3pm on the dot but gave us our room number but not the key... why offer early check in?! Managed to find a house keeper who kindly checked the room was done so we could get our bags in because we were due at the wedding. Went back to reception at 3pm, told to come back in another 10 mins... I advised receptionist our room was ready as had already been let in by house keeping so just needed the key...not the best start. Forgot the extras asked for at booking (room was booked last year) and forgot but this wasn’t a big deal and they removed them straight away and refunded. States spa access from 12pm on day of check in, but spa was rammed full so couldn’t actually get in to use anything... no big deal for us as we were due to attend a wedding anyway but if you had paid exclusively to use the spa I could imagine that would be frustrating! Staff were lovely but you had to actively seek them out rather than them checking on you intermittently and there were plates and glasses littered everywhere on empty tables, really needed more staff on glass and plate collecting as they were there for hours... some staff were noticeably inexperienced but pleasant enough. Same drinks at the bar were different prices each time went for a drink, double vodka and coke, glass of Pepsi first time was £7.90, second time £9, third time £8... maybe some more till training is needed. Breakfast was lovely, cleaning staff friendly and did manage to get in the pool at 8am, which was something at least. Going forward should probably make it clear when booking rooms that spa access is limited and give people the choice to pay the extra for spa or less if they are happy with room and breakfast only, as I know there were a few disgruntled guests because of the lack of spa access which is supposed to be included in the room. My check out was straight forward however my mum had items added to her room which where not ordered by them... always check your receipt, again though staff sorted this out and the items were removed. Was nice for a wedding stay but wouldn’t pay the money for a weekend away as when busy it’s just not worth it.

Fabulous hotel. Easy car parking. Spacious rooms. Good restaurants and cafe. Fabulous breakfast. Excellent pool and jacuzzis. Staff very friendly. Only one negative. The room key needed recalibration after every time it was used.

Nicely presented hotel which has adapted well to Covid restrictions. The staff are helpful and friendly and the overall interior is well kept. I would recommend for business uers as this also has a decent gym and pool.

My wife and I stayed on a Sunday/Monday. We had a great afternoon tea (she loved the sweet option and I enjoyed the savoury version). Our massages were great and took place together. Our room was very nice and clean. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but did come back and use the outdoor cocktail bar which is a lovely spot. Sleep quality was good. Breakfast was great. Pool and spa facilities are great despite restrictions. Staff were lovely.

Only slight problem was that our deal included a discount voucher for Cheshire Oaks that could not be provided and the note that we received to present to ask for a discount there was useless.

We will return again for a spa stay at some point.

The pool and hot tubs are currently open. Unfortunately we have no idea what will happen in the coming weeks, we find out any such changes at the same time as everyone else and don't get any prior warning. We have a 48 hour cancellation policy in place so if you book and then decide to cancel you can do.
