I stayed in this delightful little hotel for three nights in September 2020. The food was excellent. The Staff were very pleasant and the room was very comfortable. The location is great and convenient for trips into surrounding counties - even as far as Belleek and Omagh in Northern Ireland. I would recommend this hotel highly.
Ok it's taken a few months to write this but I've no internet at home and work is extremely busy so that's that out!
Myself and the wife stayed here on March 16th Paddy's weekend! We got a great B and B rate with evening meal included. Parking was available on site. The bedroom we were allocated was large, cozy and warm. The bathroom was large also and it and the room were spotless.
We ate in the bar/lounge...I had chicken wings to start followed by a really good juicy steak, chips and salad. My wife had a vegetarian lasagne and she thought it was lovely and tasty and great to have on the hotel menu. We really enjoyed a few drinks in the warm and spotlessly clean lounge as we sat near the raging fire. We slept very well that night in our room even though it was positioned to the front of the hotel and the road was outside our window. I don't remember any sounds from cars passing or from other hotel guests.
The next morning we had an absolutely fantastic breakfast, mine being an Irish fry and my wife's French toast. Philomena who is the hotel owner along with Eamonn her husband really looked after us. After my wife spotted that there was plaice on the menu and she had not eaten it previously Philomena brought 2 fillets of it to our table and it was really beautiful and tasty.
We were sorry our stay was so short but we will return before the winter draws in and this time we will be there earlier to explore the lovely quaint village of Arvagh.
We can't wait to be honest. Top marks to The Breffni Arms !
Lois, at Great Canadian Travel found thiis magical hotel and booked us for a three night stay while we went up to Cootehill to look for Hutchison ancestors. Not much luck on ancestors but the hotel is so wonderful the visit is a huge success. First, the town of Arvagh is lovely. Large enough to have a few pubs, a pharmacy, a couple of news agents and takeaways. No need for takeaway though the bar/pub/restaurant in Breffni Arms has wonderful meals, awesome deserts, and, best I could tell, endless Guinness. Our room overlooked the main street, (the lake perhaps 300 feet away,) had a window that actually opened, and noise was a non-issue. Slept long and soundly in a comfortable bed with five star beddding --- as are the towels in the bathroom. Our room, the whole hotel, is spotless clean. What makes this hotel special though is the staff. Unfailingly kind, helpful, friendly. To top it all off, the hotel is obviously a center of local life. Today they hosted fishermen, a funeral reception, and a first communion event. In the bar we've met and enjoyed talking to a number of neighbors who dropped in for a pint, or two. If you're looking for the best of Ireland, this is it!
My mom and I stayed at the Breffni Inn and absolutely loved it. The staff and owner were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They were flexible with meals times and check-out. The room was very spacious and warm- just what we needed after lots of travel. If and when I make it back to Ireland, Breffni Inn is somewhere I will stay again. 10/10 recommend!!
Nice small comfortable hotel; staff were friendly and helpful, food was good; bedroom was warm and perfect after a long day....Great Guinness.
Good selection of food available on the bar menu....full breakfast times were flexible to suit early departures
I would recommend it...and I will be back.
