This is foodie heaven all the way. If you're finicky about getting jostled by the wait staff and having your neighbors sitting on top of you... find another place. All the food looks great... and here is the place to take an adventure. Book a reservation early... or take your chances for a seat at the counter.
It's style of architecture makes this a cozy venue. But the architecture itself is not the prize as the offering is more important than the structure itself.
This is pure old time Italian. So much so that you'd think you were in Little Italy in NYC. great selections and great portions. Very manageable wine list too.
Nice hotel bar... with decent food. We park in the hotel lot and use this place as a resting place. It isn't bad, but this shouldn't be your numero uno destination.
Great place for tapas. Great place to step out of your comfort zone. Never had octopus... try it here. Service can be quirky... but don't be afraid to ask for suggestions. That always calms the mood.
This is a Marriott property that we use for their park and travel special. We spend the night before our early flights and leave our car securely in their parking lot. Their shuttle service is one of the best.
We've eaten at less French places in France. The menu is eclectic French. Plus... you can actually eat light here.
This is a happening place... and you can expect to wait in the bar area for more than a few minutes even if you have a reservation. It's worth the wait. For such an 'in' place, you can actually eat for a reasonable price. And you can eat healthy and light also. But... the fun is sharing a string of dishes with your friends, etc.
This is one of the best center city markets. It has everything you might want to get at a 'farmers' market... plus shops that offer unique items. But... the food choices are what really makes the market hum... from an early breakfast through lunch and snacks to dinner. From sit down to take away.
This is next to the convention center, so it's a very business oriented property. Extremely professional even for a Marriott. We stay here when we're not traveling out of PHL... and want to be centrally located. Plus... it's a short walk to Reading terminal for an early b'fast. Close to public transportation. Easy walk to many of the sites and activities.
This isn't an every visit restaurant. This is for very special occasions, especially for ones where money is no object. If you're gonna get angst over the potential bill, go some place else. But... if you want to enjoy food, service and the company you're with for a couple of hours... celebrate here. We couldn't believe that each succeeding dish seemed better than the previous one.
It's more than the sculps, it's a history storehouse with a great app that gives you a much more in depth description of the pieces.
One of the most unique museums around. While its modern design belies its old homey origin, the art is hung as seemingly randomly as in the original. This is one of the more eclectic collections. This should be at the top of any list if you're going to do the museum circuit
This IS the place if you like old/rare books and manuscripts. Plus it's in a neighborhood. The Ulysses collection is especially interesting.
Maybe one of the most underrated art museums in the country. Lots of great traveling exhibitions roll through here. The building itself is worth the visit... and pic next to the Rocky statue is almost as Philly as a cheesesteak.
Like American history... it all started here. It's really a step back in time... amid all the hustle an bustle of big city.
Pat's or Geno's. The point is... if you're visiting Philly, you eventually have to have a cheese steak.
Geno's or Pat's. You have to have your Philly cheese steak at one of these. Start with the best then you can compare to the rest.
Upscale Mexican at its finest. Fantastic tacos, but you MUST have the guac. And their margaritas are killers. It's loud and it's frenetic, but you'll be with the hip crowd, especially after work or Sat nites.
It's down home cooking in a unique location. There is another property in the Reading Terminal. Great food at great prices.
