Lives in Amherst, New Hampshire, United States
Since Sep 2011
50-64 year old male
Growing up my family traveled a lot, weekend trips by train, long car trips with camping throughout the USA/Mexico/Canada, and especially the Caribbean and Florida Keys, canoe exploration of the Canadian wilderness, train travel through northern Europe, and current experience in Ireland and Bavaria. Three years as an apprentice to become a Fine Dining Chef, Owner/Operator of a Resort with a Restaurant in the Ely Minnesota area, one of only two restaurants in Minnesota that was recommended in the AAA travel guide for Minnesota as having "exceptional" food. When I travel I have no specific agenda, other than to experience the locations. I appreciate fine food and customer service. I dislike pretentious presentations. I really enjoy food that is honest, i.e. has great flavor married with the ingredients. I use the taste of the coffee as an indicator of the owner's understanding of the food experience.

This is where you enjoy Breakfast, more correctly, celebrate the experience of "Breakfast"
Historical, just to know what place this payed in the history of Ireland is incredible , a bit out of the way, not a formal site, a situation of understanding how to use the sheep gates and then not stepping in the ship poop.
The place of which you have dreamed, arrive and instantly you are comfortable, and embraced, accepted, you are "home".
Mentioned in the Tom Clancy novel "Patriot Games" as a meeting place, the food is "native" and the folks are real.
The Book of Kells is a great experience, also informs you about the process of making books way back in ancient times. The only down side is that many of the people visiting act as if the event of viewing the pages on display is much more significant than the act of giving birth.
great example of what the church can get the poor folks to construct
great location, check out the bar next door. nice staff.
not enough places to sit, great food, expect that it may take several tries to finally score a seat at a table. It will be worth the effort.
great location, the rooms are very modern, with all that you want. great wireless internet.
Olde Ireland, St. Patrick is reported to have baptized people on the property adjacent
great shopping opportunities, and people watching as well
OMG, the experience is worldly, but a bit overplayed. Great explanation of the history of book creation, and you get to eventually view actual pages, but you are forced to endure the experience with senior citizens who are undergoing a catharsis of sorts. It is historical and interesting, but, OMG it is not the reveal of the secret of eternal life ...
This is a great park, a nice relief from the busy street.
Great part of Dublin history, check out the position of the liberty statue, with back side toward the outside. If you have the extra time you might want to take a formal tour.
OMG, so much to see, street performers, fantastic shopping opportunity, people watching, this is "Ireland"
Perfect experience, Allows you to learn so very much of the history of Ireland
Great way to experience food as it can be, the staff is a great guide as to what to order
A nice place to visit, to gain an appreciation for what was the historyy
Too Cool, a fun experience, one of those "you gotta" things
Classic Ireland. An OMG experience, best experience3d during lunch when the patrons show up and jam in the back. Oh, and the food is pretty good as well.
Flying out of Dublin, then this is where you want to grab a bite before flying out, or4 if you are changing planes in Dublin, then go here to grab a bite. Great food! The fact that most of the customers are flight crew is a great indicator that this is a place to eat.
Historic in that it connects parts of Dublin, as such it is important
Too much fun, the entire area is energized and a great place to experience, accept that the place is crowded.
This was important as the river was the reason that Dublin was built
fun to view, but so often is crowded with lots of people
nice place to visit, part of the history of the area
Back in 1916 this was the site of rebellion, people died at this site, bullets were fired. holes are evident.
Interesting, exhibit of animals, preserved, but, the exhibits are just "there". Nothing natural, it is just a show of bodies.
