Barbara A's City Tips

  • The cheapest ways to move around are the buses and "combis" (vans.) If you are thinking about using taxis, establish a rate per hour or day with your driver. Renting a car is another option.
  • Credit and debit cards are accepted at some establishments, but not all. Be sure to carry cash with you.
  • You can pay in USD, but I recommend you exchange money into MXN for a better rate.
  • Between June and October it gets really hot: Wear light clothes to help you endure the temperatures, especially if you plan on moving around a lot. You can expect some humidity throughout the rest of the year too.
