I love to travel. I am not happy unless I am planning a new adventure, returning to a beloved city, or blazing a trail to somewhere I have never been before. My favorite places in the world are London, New Orleans, Disneyland, and Salem, Massachusetts. I also love to write about everything and anything to do with travel. I have penned travel guides for TripAdvisor on Jamaica, Nassau, Charleston, Savannah, Nashville, Punta Cana, Kissimmee, San Juan, Panama City Beach, Louisville, Cincinnati, Key Largo, Biloxi, Tampa, Cleveland, Clearwater, Branson, Pigeon Forge, and Phoenix.

Set your mind, body, and soul up for the best day ever with a morning Liquid Yoga class. This is a unique yoga experience on a stand-up paddle board — so also a great way to start exploring the waters around Negril — and is perfect for both beginners and advanced practitioners.
Seven Mile Beach is one of Jamaica's most famous attractions, drawing hordes of visitors annually to its soft, white sand. Don't expect just 'another day at the beach' here, as plenty of water sports, restaurants, and entertainment are offered all along this long stretch to help you while away the hours.
Pilot's Cotton Tree Bar is one of the most celebrated bars in all of Negril. Located right off Seven Mile Beach, they offer a great happy hour, and plenty of other specials to make visitors return every time they are in Negril! The perfect late-afternoon treat, after a day on the sand.
For beach lovers who prefer a little more peace and quiet, Booby Cay Island is located right off the coast of Negril, just a short boat ride away. The crowds of Seven Mile Beach aren't present here, nor are the large resorts or walking vendors. This makes for a peaceful, fun retreat to laze the day away at.
A good alternative to a whole day at the beach, the Negril Cliffs are beautiful 40 foot-tall coral formations that provide visitors with an adrenaline-fuelled jump-off point into the warm waters below. If this seems like a bit much, you can simply swim around the base of the cliffs instead.
Another interesting sight on the tourist trail, the Negril Lighthouse is 20 meters tall, and climbing its 103 steps to the top rewards visitors with panoramic views. Having lit up the most westerly point of Jamaica since 1894, this is also historically interesting, being one of the earliest concrete lighthouses.
If you are in Negril and need the use of high speed internet to check emails or finish up some business from back home, a quick visit to the library is a must. It is conveniently located right by the roundabout downtown, just minutes from popular attractions and the beach.
Lunchtime doesn't necessarily mean the sightseeing has to stop: Situated high atop volcanic rocks, the Rock House offers an authentic Caribbean menu, complete with unbelievable views! With delicious island dishes — many made with seasonal ingredients from the on-site, organic farm — and personable service, be sure to squeeze a meal here into your day.
For those looking to explore Jamaica's natural habitats, Barney's Hummingbird Garden is a tropical oasis, filled with hummingbirds and beautiful plants, trees, and flowers. Feeding the hummingbirds is a magical experience that the whole family will enjoy!
Kool Runnings Water Park is fun for the entire family! Experience a wide range of slides, check out the children's play area, and simply relax as you float down the lazy river. The adventure park also offers kayaking, go-kart racing, laser combat, rafting, and paintball. Surely there's something for everyone here!
If you are in search of shopping opportunities while in Negril, you will find it all handily in one place at the Times Square Mall. From Duty Free stores to souvenirs, gifts to clothing — make a quick detour here to shop Jamaican-style.
Margaritaville offers a fun, festive atmosphere for dinner, and welcomes families as well. Some claim that the drinks are a little over-priced and that the service can be spotty at times, but I have always had a great experience here. From water trampolines to a Tiki Bar — sometimes a few extra dollars are worth the over-all experience!
