Is there anywhere near by to park your car and walk? Like parking lots? I am okay w pay lots if needed. Subway bus and train out of question. Just want to drive thru on way out of city and if parking / walking is easier- were?
Just look for a street spot. I had no trouble at about 9 on a Saturday. I mean, took a couple blocks to find a spot, but was doable. If you’re driving to Dyker Hts, check out the winter lantern festival on Staten Island too (there is a groupon discount). It’s only another 20 minute drive.
Nope. Take the train to 18th Avenue and walk
Hello. if you are visiting to see the annual displays of Christmas lights, it might be simplest to stay mobile and drive around the residential streets, slowly. There is a limited amount of on-street parking but few parking lots.
There are no pay lots, and parking on the street is going to be difficult since most of the homes have to use the street to park their cars. You can try driving through the neighborhood, but the police are everywhere and constantly pushing cars to keep moving. So you won't be able to stop and take pictures. It really needs to be walked to be able to see everything and take pictures. Public transportation is by far the best way to get there. Either take the subway to the 86st street station about a mile from the neighborhood or drive to that area and park there. Take the bus that stops close to the Mocha Cafe, and it will drop you off a block from where the lights start. You can go back to the cafe for a cup of coffee after seeing the lights before heading back to the city.
