What does the ticket for Colonial Williamsburg pay for? Is there anywhere to eat lunch other than the taverns?

Basically your ticket covers the shuttle bus and access to all the historic sites and trade shops and shows plus access to the two museums. As for rating there are several places but not actually in the historical area. For me eating in one of the taverns is a great experience and since we are close something we do yearly normally.

Also I tickets to visit all the trade shops is wonderful. And there have been street vendors selling snack items last several times we have gone however we have not been there this year

You to the Colonial Williamsburg website for info on tickets. Different ticket options include different sites. You must have a ticket to enter most of the historic trade shops and buildings. We usually buy an annual pass, even if we are visiting for 3-4 days. The other discounts make this the best option for us. We enjoy eating at Aroma’s in Merchant’s Square. There are many other restaurants in Merchant’s Square which is on the Colonial Williamsburg bus route and easily accessible on foot.

There are many places to eat that arent' taverns. They are in Merchants Square. You buy a package to enter various buildings.

I believe it was something like $200 for two adults and three children to visit. Look on the internet for discounts before you go.

We found very few places to eat. There is a small store kind of across the street from the main restaurant that sells sandwiches. I believe it was advertised as a bakery, maybe?

The ticket covers access to the buildings that are open. They have people in them giving demonstrations, etc.

Ticket pays for access to their owned/managed properties. Visit their website. The tavern offer very good food, one of the reasons for our visits, but there are other places just outside of the defined CW property.

If you stay at a Colonial Williamsburg property you have a length of stay ticket that is very reasonable. Ticket allows you to go into all the buildings and for events. Plenty of other places to eat lunch that the taverns just outside the historic area.
