Hi, We stayed there in July 2015.. I had my window smashed out and other aggravations. The person was held responsible and did pay.. I never heard anything from your hotel chain.. No apology, nothing .. I cleaned the glass out of my car myself.. Your staff gave me a garbage bag and duct tape.. I had two grandchildren that had to ride home with fine glass chips.. I chose your hotel because of the name.. I will not do it again and I will not encourage any one else to.
I would request a reply.
I'm sorry this happened to you and even worse this happened when you were traveling with your grand kids in mid of the winter season. I stayed here several times and nothing of that sort happened. So it's not a place where such incident happens frequently, it has happened to you and it's an unfortunate one, however such rare incidents in this property should not dictate your decision to stay here in the future. Even if you have paid for your parking in any other hotel, hotels don't take responsibility of such incidents. If you could have requested to stay back in the hotel for couple of hours until you have mechanic to change the glass n vaccine the glass pieces, I'm sure the hotel would have gladly accepted your request at no extra cost. The staffs are very human and courteous to help the guests at double tree.
As everyone else has said this was not the hotels fault, I am sure they do their best to prevent things like this happening but I wouldn't hold them responsible.
I absolutely concur with everything in rossanado's reply above. You experienced a truly horrible event and for that I am really sorry. However, in no way could or should Doubletree be held accountable for anything having to do with it. It is disappointing that you did not receive a specific apology, although if you had, it would have been made out of empathy for what you went through, not for acceptance of any neglect or responsibility on their part. What I don't really get on your part, though, is why you did not stop somewhere along the way at a car wash/vacuum to get rid of the glass chips before even leaving Burlington, not to mention driving all the way back to New York with them still in the car. I will continue to recommend this particular Doubletree to anyone staying in the Burlington area! It met and, in many ways, exceeded my expectations while I was there with my family. It is clean, neat, friendly, relaxed, and efficient, plus the attached restaurant is very convenient and welcoming, and it provided all the meals we needed to our complete satisfaction. And, on the side, no problems whatsoever in the parking lot. In the meantime, I truly hope you never have a repeat of this experience wherever you travel to again.
What an awful experience. A random parking lot act of vandalism which was NOT caused by the hotel, though their staff did help you in a small way, would not determine the Hotel's quality of accommodation and service for a stay in the facility. Yes it was the hotel's parking lot, but ALL hotels make it very clear you park at your own risk and vandalism is not their responsibly nor any accident in a parking lot. I would never hold the hotel accountable for a parking lot incident nor except an apology from them not negatively attribute this sort of incident to condemn the hotel To encourage others to not ever frequent that hotel for others. Terrible your grandkids had to ride home with fine glass in the back seat, hopefully you put a blanket over the seat before they say in it or swept it off. I believe the area has a car wash with a vac....Shame you experience was negative, I go several time a year here never has happened, but I also never ever leave anything in my car in sight inside the car to entice.
We have never had any such trouble at this hotel and have stayed there several times.
