How convenient is it to get to the ski school with young kids (3 and 5)? Is the ski school next to the ski concierge?
The St. Regis Hotel is only about 150-200 yards from the Deer Valley base and ski school. It's a fun funicular ride away from the resort. Plus, they operate a 14-passenger van that shuttles guests and all their ski gear back and forth throughout the day.
They do have a ride down the hill on a funicular and then a short walk to ski school, but we had a private ski school through the St. Regis and so we just went down to the lower level of the St. Regis and so it was super easy. They have ski fittings, rentals, and a private ski school. There are ski butlers too. The ski instructors were amazing. Call the St. Regis to see about their private ski school. It is so easy and the ski butlers take and store your skis for you so no lugging anything around and you ski and and out of the hotel (depending on if you can do green runs otherwise the instructor shuttles you to beginner runs).
The toddlers runs are at the bottom of the pistes and you would access it by a short exciting ride on the funicular and a minutes walk up to the piste, there are loads of mountain hosts to help you with directions and gear...you can leave it all in the dry heated lodge at the very moment you take off your skis, and need never carry them again until you leave...you should easily manage with the children,it will be worth it whatever the weather.
The ski school for young children is located right near St Regis deer valley. From the hotel it's a quick ride on the funicular.
