If you turn up in the morning, can you reserve a place for a specific time that day? For example, we may want to do one later in the day, say 4.30pm, but want to guarantee our places early, so we don't have the uncertainty of whether we're going to get on a tour or not. Thanks!
I don’t see a problem with going over to sun studios early so that you can purchase your tickets for a later tour. But honestly my mom and I just walked up when we wanted to go and they sold us tickets for the next tour which was just a short 15 mins away. This waiting period allowed me to get a cold drink to cool down after the journey.
Calling ahead might not be a bad idea. But, in the event you have to cool your jets for a while, they have a nice waiting area where you can get a snack at a lunch counter (they even make milkshakes, though they are not as good as the ones you can get at Schwab's on Beale St). You can also check out the gift shop, which includes a nice selection of 45s
Hi, when we were there in April I remember we paid for a set time. I just pulled the ticket stubs out and looked and there is no time on them. I looked on their page and in contact tab it has an email for their operations / PR manager Nina Jones. Wouldn't let me post email so her username is Nina, with a domain of SUNSTUDIOS and its a communication type domain (hope this makes sense). That is my best guess to be sure as I couldn't find a phone number. Good luck!
Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I will email that Nina person just to make sure :)
We went early and there was one tour ahead of us but the wait isn't long. The place is small so dont get discouraged, the waiting area is the cafe and gift shop.
Yes, it would be a good idea to go early and book a tour for alter in the day. Sun Studios is not that big a place, and so the tours are necessarily confined to about 12-20 people per tour. Our tour was booked beforehand by our travel guide. Check online to see if you can book beforehand by telephone.
When we were there I did notice that one tour was full & those people had to wait for the next tour. We were there later in the day & it was really busy. Unsure weather the tours are an hour or half an hour
You don't have to reserve a place you just go in and get a ticket. Can't remember when it closes but there usually is a lot of people there. It's very informative as a lady tells you everything
I’m not 100% sure. There are tours every 30 mins from what I can remember. When we arrived we just needed to wait a few minutes for the next tour. We just used this opportunity to take some pics outside. We went in March so it wasn’t particularly busy. There’s a little gift shop and a small soda bar there so you can shop or chill out while you wait. I Know this didn’t answer your question but if you’re a fan it’s definitely worth the visit!
