Can you ride or drive if you have a walking challenge
You can drive up to Lookout Mountain and park near the Inclined Railway or the Battle of Lookout Mountain museum, but if you go in the Point park I don't know if it handicap accessible. My wife has trouble walking so we didn't want to do anymore additional walking thru Point park. The park entrance is located about 20 yards for the entrance of the museum and the Inclined Railway is a 3 block walk on the same street if you choose to walk.
You can drive to the top, and I believe it is wheelchair accessible. There are many parts of the path we took that are NOT wheelchair accessible.
One person said $5 to get in park it was $20 ish a piece for us. And some parts was wheelchair assesible but it was not clear what all parts, i would find a contact number to make sure before visiting the park where u have to lookout of 7 states. I did not do the railway as i did not have time but i remember it was $12 for up and down trip and is wheelchair acessible.
You can drive to the top
You can either take the incline railway to the top or drive. I say take the ride on the railway it's something you will not regret. Although I am not 100 percent sure as to how mobile you are. Can you stand in line for 20 mins maybe to get on the car and secondly when you get to the top the car is on a very steep incline can you climb a few steps to get out of the car? Unless you are able to get a seat close to the door then you won't have to climb stairs. If you can do this I suggest you at least get a ride on the railway up and down (it's awesome) and then you can drive up the mountain to go to point park which has beautiful views all around. It's $15 a person to ride the railway and $5 a person to get into the park. Or you can just drive up and see the view from the railway station at the top of the mountain.
You can drive all the way to the top. Don't remember seeing any handicap parking nearby but the park there seems accessible. I say that but not to the edge where the best views are. I would recommend calling to be sure.
It's a cable car that takes you up and down the mountain. As long as you're physically able to stand in line to get on the cable car, negotiate your way on the cable car and then walk around when you get to the top of the mountain you should be fine. If you require a motorized scooter this is absolutely not the place for you.
