Nexus Holidays Questions & Answers

Melbourne, Australia

Hi! My family and I are about to go on the Taste of China 9 day tour through Nexus Holidays. Has anyone done this actual tour as most posts I see are the Discover China 10 day tour. Is there anything we should know or beware of before we take off? Thanks heaps!

Hello, I did 10 days in China. Nexus takes care of you on almost everything. If you are in Beijing, get a mask, pollution is a problem there but other cities are great. If you are not into manufactures take it as a learning moment, it's very interesting what this ancient culture has provided. Be careful with eating too much, there is plenty of food provided. Have a great trip.

Hi,

I went on this tour in April 2019.

The tour was very good especially for the price !!

You don't have to go on the optional tours. You don't have to select them or pay before you leave. I recommend that you wait and see how you fell before you book the optional tours as you might be too tired to enjoy it.

Make sure to have toilet paper with you during the tours. Most of the was rooms don't provide toilet paper (try to avoid public washrooms in the streets).

Don't get caught up buying Jade, emerald, silk or the great wall souvenirs as at the end of the tour you will find cheaper options. At the markets, always negotiate as the prices will be less than half of the initial price offered.

Ask your guide the best place to make your purchases (not the factories !!)

Get your own SIM cards for your mobile phone from the fake 7 Eleven stores if you need it. Don't buy it from the tour guide.

Download a VPN if you want to use Google, Gmail, Snapchat, whatsApp, etc.

Get a translator as the majority of the people don't speak English at all even at the airport or on tourist attractions.

This was a really fun trip !

Enjoy!

My husband and I were in the tour of China by Nexus Hollidays, was amazing.

I suggested visit the "Terracota Warrior".

You can add this aditional tour. It worth.

Hello,

I think the tour will be excellent. The only concern will be VERY Firm (or just No) when the bring you to visit the manufactures of medicine, silk, tea, etc..). They will try to force you to buy some products that will be very costly. Beside that, the tour will be OK, taking account of the cost.

Have a nice trip

Thanks everyone,

@darkelle what happened if you didn't take up the options but others did on your tour? What were the accommodations like? Are they nearby the main city areas in each location? We fly out in 11 days and still don't have our confirmed tour information as yet so I have no idea what hotels we are actually staying at!

I have not done this tour, but found the food in china great. Most hotels we stayed at had both Chinese and some type of American food for breakfast. The need for tissues to act as toilet paper is necessary for each family member. Enjoy the trip China is great fun.
