Every room on property has been renovated and updated.
We continue to improve the property on a daily basis.
I haven't stayed in the rooms; however, a friend did and she said there were bugs flying around, possibly termites. She stayed in one of the buildings looking at lake.
I understand that this is a historic place, but that doesn't leave room for unkept premises.
They would be in the area where the checkin is located....in the main part of the hotel.
Sorry, I do not know for sure. My room was in the Lakeside section which is the first building on the left when looking out from the main building. It had termites!!! Do not stay there.
This Inn is a step back in time. It is clean, cozy and charming. You will not find fancy new anything at the Lakeside. Most of the rooms have updated carpet. The mattresses are good. Lakeside is about history. It may not be for everyone. I have stayed at the Lakeside over the years more than any hotel in my long life. I really love it. Robin
I don't know what would be considered updated as this hotel is a registered historical landmark and all renovations have to be approved. If you tell the hotel you are ONLY interested in staying in one of the most recently renovated/updated rooms, I imagine they will either confirm your requirement OR tell you they can't make any promises, similar to most hotels, whether historic or not. If you're looking for anything other than a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and old-fashioned experience in a quaint little city, this may not be for you. I highly recommend it.
The updated rooms are in the main building (lobby, check-in facilities, bar, etc.).
I can't tell you where they are, but I can tell you were they are not. They are not across the walk way nearest the lake on the right if you are facing the lake. That is where we stayed and I would not consider updated.
