Is it possible to take both trains on the one day? I was thinking of taking the beach train from Santa Cruz to Felton, then the Steam train from Felton to Bear Mountain. Then the stream train from Bear mountain back to Felton and then the beach train from Felton back to Santa Cruz. Please let me know. Thank you.
I checked with my sources and found that you could ride both in the same day if you start in Felton first, ride the Bear Mt loop and then ride to Santa Cruz and back to Felton. These trains each have a different vibe.
Bear Mountain is a round trip only to a one-way dead end , but you can get off and hike or picnic and take later train back !
Possible to do this but it gives you very little time at the Beach and Boardwalk .
Would suggest Redwood Mountain train and drive to Santa Cruz as the beach train is just a regular modern style Diesel not as fun ( to me ) as open air steam locomotive.
I believe you can, although it may take up the majority of your day so I would plan your day around it if I were you, pack a picnic etc as it takes up a lot of time so as I say pack lunch or a snack. Hope this helped :D
I believe you could do this on the summer runs as there are at least two runs on each route
Food is available at the station if you need to wait between routes
Beach one only runs summer months so check before you go
It's a fun trip besure to take jackets and hats as temps at different altitudes and shady areas
Jana C - sorry love but your answer is nonsensical. You are obviously just seeking Tripadvisor points. Please try to stick with the old addage " if you dont have anything wothwhile to say - say nothing at all". Thank you
Sorry, I'm not sure. We went in winter when the Santa Cruz train was not running. You might want to check the website to see if it suits your schedule.
well we drove our car to Bear Mountain from Felton to Bear Mountain so I have no idea if one can do what you asked. If possible then go for it but we did not do it that way.The beach train was not running that day.sorry wish I had the answers but this is all I can say
