Staying 3 nights at DoubleTree Sonoma for our 20th Anniversary. What is the best room to book? Would like to sit outside room with a glass of wine at the end of the day.

I would recommend a top floor balcony room that overlooks the golf course. Happy Anniversary and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Yes, top floor balcony but check to see if there is a party scheduled for the banquet room if you're looking for a quiet evening, then book one further away.

I suggest a top floor room with a balcony....that way you can sit / look out and enjoy the views. The inner rooms have pool views which is what I had..... nice, but a bit noisy during the day. The back of the hotel has a golf course view which is nice and quiet. Hope I was helpful...enjoy!

Any 1st floor room facing out has a small patio. As noted in dcuf33's reply, the Golf view rooms are the best for what you are seeking (IMHO). If you booked through the Hilton / DoubleTree site, you'll have the option to pick your room during the on-line check-in period (24 hours before your stay). If you did not, you can try calling the hotel the day before check-in, and ask them if one of these rooms is available.

Safe travels. ...and Happy Anniversay!

Some of the rooms overlooking the courtyard have balconies. 2nd floor or higher is more private. 1st floor on the courtyard has more room but less privacy. There is a nice common area in the courtyard with chairs and a fire pit, good for sitting and sipping.

I enjoyed the outside room with a balcony and a view of the golf course. However, I visited an inside suite that had a view of the pool area that was very nice.
