Greetings. My wife and me are planning a trip to 'Frisco & Napa Valley-Wine Country in August, and I want to know about trips to the vineyards nearby. We're traveling on a budget & my questions are:
Is the Wine Valley Lodge close to those vineyards?, and;
Since we don't rent cars (we'll commute on buses & trains), is easy or hard for a couple like us to move without our own transportation means?
Thank you for your reply.
The motel is perfect for people on a budget, but not sure I'd recommend public transportation.
Also please understand that Napa is PACKED in August, it can take forever simply to get a few miles on the Silverado Trail.
Are you part of a tour group?
San Francisco is fine without a car, not sure I'd do Napa without a mode of transportation other than public.
Have fun, it's beautiful!
Would definitely recommend a tour if you don't have a car. Not the kind of environment (agricultural out of town) to get around via public transport
It is not easy to travel in Napa without a car, but I think there is a bus or shuttle. The Lodge is not close to most of the wineries.
Have to admit that I don't know Carlos, I had a car.
I don't think the lodge is close to the main vineyards although there are a lot of vineyards in the valley. I can't help with public transport as we had a rental car. I believe you can get tours that take you around to various vineyards. sorry can't help more but Napa is a lively place and worth a visit
