Yes. You can either walk through the nice neighborhood or through downtown.
It's a hike through a neighborhood with no sidewalks and kind of a strenuous walk because the roads are hilly. It's probably about a 20 minute walk.
It is about a 20 minute walk to Carmel State Beach. It is worth doing as the local neighbourhood is so pretty with some lovely properties. There is a car park at the beach if you didn't fancy walking. You will love The Mission Ranch. We can't wait to go back. Have a great time
I'd say no, it would be a pretty good walk!
Well, you could walk to the beach, but it's not a beach front hotel. You could walk from the Mission Ranch .... but I wouldn't recommend hauling all of your beach regalia from Mission Ranch to the nearest beach. I'd just drive to it with all my stuff. If, however, you are out for a great walk, as most Carmelites are known to do, I'd say, yup, get on that road and walk toward the beach. There's Carmel River State Beach close by, with sandy beach near a river outlet into the sea. I'd recommend pulling it up on Google Maps to see the relation of the Mission Ranch to the shoreline. What we like to do is walk from Mission Ranch all the way downtown to Ocean Avenue, then walk along the beach, which is GORGEOUS, then go up the stairs to Scenic Road which runs along the beach...then take Scenic Road south around the bend, next to the Carmel River State Beach, then follow the road back to Mission Ranch. That's a walk! I hope I was able to answer your question. In essence, then, the Mission Ranch Hotel is NOT a beachfront hotel, but you can see the beach across a beautiful meadow from the property.
Yes absolutely! A couple of kilometers through Carmel.
It's a fair hike. You can see the beach from the inn. it appears to be maybe 1/2 mile away, but you can't hike cross country, so you need to walk on the roads to the official entrance and parking for the beach park, maybe a mile.
