You are better off on your own and go to Maho Beach, if you want to experience the planes landing and taking off. This experience only happens on Maho Beach. The beach itself is not that good to me. There are better beaches on the island. It has too many rocks and is crowded.

Hi , the ship excursion are very good but you can also take a cab for about 8.00 per person to mayo beach there’s also a excursion to buccaneer beach with chairs , lunch and transportation back to ship .

I would not recommend an excursion at that price to Mahi beach... especially if you have young children. You are better off renting a car or using taxi and I agree that Mullet is a much better beach. Maho is touristy but not nearly as nice as Mullet.

If you are adventurous, take the local bus for $2/person. Tell the driver to stop whenever you want to get out. There’s a roundabout by the Royal Islander, get out there. You easily walk to the beach in minutes. You can also walk to Mullet Beach in 10 minutes. Mullet is a fantastic beach, worth the visit.

Then when you are ready, take the bus back to Philipsburg for $2/person.

Hi excursion are good to do but mullet bay is a better beach , very clear water and your family will enjoy it very much , it’s very safe and once in a while you might catch a few good waves , also don’t forget Roses rib shack on the beach , it’s a must,

Take a taxi it will be much cheaper that the cruise lines. Enjoy it is AWESOME

Do your own thing, and take a Taxi. The cruises that we saw didn't come ashore so you didn't get the full effect of the experience. Taxi 100%

Mayo beach is only $20 dollars each way in local taxi, plenty around. I didn't find the beach bars that expensive? This is based on staying in Mayo area and taxi to/from Philipsburg?? Taxi's around port area may be more expensive??

Maho Beach is worth a visit, but probably isn't worth paying $150 for. That said, most of the taxis on St. Maarten are conversion vans that can probably fit all four of you, so you can probably visit for a fraction of the cost.

There are always cars waiting to take you to wherever you want to go. We got a car for 2 hours for US90, but we didn’t,t share. With hindsight we quickly learned you get the same sort of price if there is 2 or 6!

Mayo beach is an experience but take drinks and snacks’ the 2 beach bars are very expensive and the drivers get tipped by the bars.

There is a great sports beach about a twenty minute drive away, but be advised that there is a naturist beach next to it so photography can be challenging
