Hacienda Manteles Questions & Answers

Hi! I've been trying to get in touch with the hotel but can't seem to do so. Does anyone have any advice for getting here from Quito? Please let me know! :)

Thanks, Jenna

It is maybe easier to get in touch from Banos, a backpackers heaven and which is the biggest town nearby.

The Hacienda is more of a lodge than a hotel. It was formerly the residence of a family, that still owns and runs it. This could be why you are having some difficulty, it is a small family run place and they still have a large ranch/farm to operate as well. It is a very pleasant place, but well outside Banos. Just be aware you will be staying some distance from the city. If you like quiet, this is great. If you want city outside your door, this isn't the place for you. Keep trying to contact them, but I wouldn't just show up. If you decide to get there on your own make certain you have good directions as this could be tricky to find.

Hi Jenna,

You definitely want to be in touch with the staff first and not just drop in or else you may be disappointed that they don't have a place available for you. It is not too hard to find, but it is a bit out of the way. The address is Km 10 de la Ciudad de Patate en la Provincia de Tungurahua. Patate is not too far from Ambato. I hope this info is useful.

We actually got picked up in Quito by someone from the hotel. They made arrangements for us. However I have seen some people rent cars and drive there. If you know where you're going it's OK but it could be a little challenging if you don't. It takes about two hours I think.
