from which LRT station do i exit to go to the quiapo church? how far is it from the station? is the market nearby. is the area safe for foreingers?
How can i travel from guadalupe to qiapo church
Visiting the Quiapo church, no car parking spaces. I go there by taking the LRT-2 line and getting out at the end of line -the Recto station. Walk on Evangelista St. toward south and you will be there in about 850 meters. Try to walk as fast as you can. And ignore people calling your attention. Wear simply and just don't wear or show expensive pieces.
Quiapo is a street away from the LRT Carriedo station. Walking down to the church will take you a slow walk because of many stalls selling assorted items from shoes to clothes. You will have to take care of your bag because pickpockets and snatchers are just around the corner. For foreigners, you need to be accompanied by a local. If not just dress as simple as possible.
Carriedo is your exit to Quiapo church. Walk about 300 meters due east along Carriedo street. The street itself is clogged with stalls of every kind selling mostly clothes.. Quiapo is a whole market place. Quinta Market is nearby just under the Quezon Bridge a little bit to the south of the river.
If you miss Carriedo, you can still exit at Doroteo Jose a bit farther north. From this exist, you head southwest to the church. On LRT-3, Recto is your exit and the end of the line. From here, once you exit, turn right on the next street (Evangelista) which will take you to the church.
The area is relatively safe but beware of pickpockets. Better yet come with a local who at least knows the area.
Alight from Carriedo station...just be sure no jewelries and keep your bags in front of you but we know thieves are very clever. Just be aware of your environment but generally it's still safe in the area...lots of malls to shop around & eateries too
