Hi....was wondering how far is the walk to the river.......a mate of mine has some restrictions. Cheers
Hi I guess the respond system does not work properly , I answered this question about 9 days ago… anyway, it's about 500 hundred steps down a long stairway to the river… and about 200 steps up from the finish at Ayung river. at the telaga Waja river it is only about 20 steps to the river and 150 going up again. but this river is a little more challenging
My husband has some mobility issues and the steps con earned me. I wrote to the company 3 times and each time they responded promptly within hours. It’s best if you go down in sneakers, and some steps are higher than normal. It was dry season when we visited (April) so the steps were not slippery.
Our guide “Ripa Rita” was super helpful and she gave him an oar which provided stability as he walked down the 500 steps. you walk down 500 steps.
In spite of Rita’s petite size, she held onto my husband’s life vest collar when he started to wobble half way through the 500-step downhill walk. You don’t feel rushed at all, and you can take your time. Some parts of the steps come with rails made of bamboo, others didn’t have rails. I am grateful he company sent her as our guide, she has been working for them since 1996 and is very experienced.
You can always change into your water shoes once you are by the river bank.
