one of our family members will find it hard to walk uphill, are taxis able to drop us in front of the hotel?
Yes taxis stop at the front door although the lane is very narrow. The problem you may have is that although the hotel is pretty central it is half way up a fairly steep lane. The altitude is such is such that even fairly fit people tend to puff quite a bit when walking back to the hotel although it's only steep for less than a hundred yards. When down the hill it's about 10 minutes,or less, walk on the flat to the central square
Yes, cabs stop at the door.
There are taxis on the street - it is a very narrow street, so cars do go on it. However, if you book a bus tour, buses will not pick you up or drop you off on this street. So you can get a taxi to go from the bus drop-off or will have to walk. Also, anywhere you have to climb uphill in Cusco will affect you because of the altitude. So take the necessary altitude sickness preventions.
Yes! I also had a taxi pick me up in front of the hotel and take me to the airport. Be aware that you will be walking uphill and downhill in order to leave the hotel for restaurants and shopping.
Yes, even though it is a very narrow road, taxis can stop right in front of the entrance
