Hi. Is there some sort of shuttle service you can offer from the airport? If not any recommendations on taxis so we don't get ripped of?

I got a taxi straight from the airport and was massively ripped off I paid I think £20 or 300,000 rupiah when it should be 150,000 tops always make sure there's a meter I just got off a very long flight and just wanted to get to the hostel but there are public buses not shuttle busses to hostel specifically however after the hassle of traveling all that way you don't want to be figuring out which bus to get on as the drivers and airport staff talk very little English so the likely hood is you'll get lost in the middle of Jakarta which trust me you don't want

DO NOT USE THE INSIDE COUNTER IN JAKARTA AIRPORT!!! Omg I can't stress this enough. Go out to the taxi stand outside and ask for a BLUEBIRD taxi, they are the most reliable, and they have an auditing system during the day. I.e. stand in line, tell the people at the front you want bluebird, they give you a ticket with a complaints docket on it, which you do not give to your driver. Or use an Uber.

ride the DAMRI bus from the airport to Gambir Station, then you can continue with uber/ojek/taxi to drop you to 6 degres

Also, the instructions on 6Deg website is good, but Jakarta is huge, so perhaps just say to "Cikini Station" or go to "Gambier Station" station, and you can direct them from there.

We used the airport free wifi to get an uber to the hostel which cost around £5, the hostels website also has a handy page that has the address and instructions in Indonesian if you need to show them to the driver
