I only have a few hours to spare one afternoon in Nairobi. What are options if I can't do a full day tour? Is it possible to just arrive at the entrance and see anything if I don't have a vehicle? Is there transportation within the park?
Hi, You can visit the Animal Orphanage inside the same campus. No need to hire any vehicle. just roam around for 2 hours.
for national park safari, vehicles are available. you can always check that at the counter. Further there are rented vehicles ready to take visitors for some 60-80 USD charge. If you can find other travelers, you can share this also.
Just a 1 or 2 miles away is a Giraffe / Crocodile park, you can visit there as well.
Again if Nairobi National park can't work well for you choose the Giraffe ecenter, Crocodile/Mamba village. Karen Blixen museum.
All these you pay the entrance when you arrive there.
Just look for a car +Driver and things will work well for you.
Hi Allison T,
A half day visit with a safari guide in a safari vehicle will help you sight plenty of wildlife in Nairobi national park. There are some good agencies which offer such safaris. I think there are some agencies recommended by Kenya tourism. It will be expensive but I’m sure you will not be disappointed.
All the best and happy viewing of great wildlife.
Hey thanks, hope you are talking about Nairobi National park right? At the entrance you will not see anything, animals go dipper inside the big bushes, therefore best would be use the safari car with an open roof so that you can stand and see animals at a clear point with less hustle.
Hope you enjoy the best.
Hi, if you don't have much time then you will not be able to do a safari in the national park but you can visit the safari walk just inside the national park gate. You don't need a vehicle for that. You can pay the fees and take a guided tour.
