Hello, did you feel safe leaving your tent unattended? I am considering camping here in a week or two (I love fall camping) and will be camping solo with my dog. We would love to enjoy the area but are a little leery of leaving the tent site unattended.
We left our tent trailer unattended but always lock up any thing of value in our vehicle. Felt pretty safe in the area.
I felt it was as safe as any other camp area I have visited. Like any camping experience it is sometimes a luck of the draw with your neighbors.
It is very safe, as someone has indicated already, every campground has a camp host and they always seem to be driving by.
We were in a trailer and left chairs, BBQ, mats, and cooler outside and nothing was taken, in fact one of the days it was windy and our large mat had blown away, as the logs didn't hold them down, and when we got back another camper put it back in place and added some rocks on it so that is didn't happen again.
So I found it safe, and another suggestion, as were the camp hosts are camping and book a site next or across from them for added safety.
We went to Silverwood for an entire day and left our tents, chairs, and food out. It was undisturbed.
Every campground has a camp host, as well as a Park Ranger makes the rounds several times a day. Definitely after the long weekend, the numbers in the campground has reduced, but there would never be a problem leaving your tent unattended. We were in a motorhome, but left our bbq, chairs, stove, and other things out during the day when we were away and there was never an issue.
