Is snorkel gear included with the cruise ship passenger day pass? I didn't see it listed, but noticed others have snorkeled while there. How far out is the snorkeling from shore?
Each package includes different offerings: 1) All Inclusive Plus includes Boat Tour, Snorkel Gear, Kayaks, Chairs, Towels, Meal and all you can drink mid shelf down, bear and wine. Package 3) Day Pass Plus includes Meal, 1 drink, Kayaks, Snorkel Gear, Chair, Towel; 4) Day Pass Standard includes ENTRY only. Packages 3 and 4 can purchase any of the other items a la carte.
Wow! I just found this question and answer page! So sorry I never saw it before. Snorkeling is included with some packages of course. Snorkeling from shore is not as good because our calm water lagoon is protected from the open sea. However, we have kayak and boat tours for a small fee ($10 to $15 per person) out to some of the most noted snorkel and dive spots in the Caribbean. This is why the reviews are mixed. If you just snorkel from shore, there is little to see because the main reef is out beyond our lagoon. But if you kayak out or boat out it is amazing!
When we were there we were taken out to the reefs edge by a guide. There was where I had the best snorkeling experience. The guide pointed out an octopus to us, then an eel. We swam out toward deeper water when a large parrot fish came by to check us out. I travel with my own snorkel gear, I don't trust that the rental gear is cleaned properly.
I would think you have to rent your own snorkel gear, but we did not snorkel. Therefore, I cannot tell you the location for the snorkeling.
Also, look into booking it directly
Hope this isn't too late. Just saw the question. The snorkeling is not very good from here. There is a reef you would have to walk across. The reef makes for a nice calm bay but limits snorkeling. Water shoes should be ok for crossing the rocks. Water is rocky as well There are only a couple of beach chairs by the water but the pool is very nice. It is a very small place. If you haven't gone yet I can provide pictures.
You cannot snorkel from the resort. You have to get passed the reef and the water is too shallow to swim over and impossible to walk I've. The snorkeling boats were on the other side of the reef. Still a lovely place.
We did not book from the cruise. However you cannot snorkel from the resort as you have to pass the coral reef which is too shallow to swim over and impossible to walk over. The snorkeling boats from excursions were on the outside of the reef
It wasn't included with our cruise ship but we didn't go snorkeling either.
Oops. The area is a lagoon with a reef breaking the Waves. There is access to a channel to the left of the beach with deeper water.
Gear was provided as well as a kayak to explore the area.
Yep- included. You can snorkel how ever far out you like. Lots to see!
