Hi, we are planning a trip in August, 2017. This resort seems out of the way. Is it easy to go into town, if so how and how much?
It's about half an hour by boat to town; if you stay at least 5 nights they provide the boat trips out when you arrive and back when you leave. If you want to go other times there will be a charge. I think it might cost less if they're already making a trip to town for other travelers or for supplies. You should email them and ask about the costs.
If you think you're going to want to access town a lot, it's probably not the best choice. We aren't fond of San Pedro and love Tranquility Bay in part because of the seclusion.
No. Be sure to bring drinks and snacks you like to store in the room fridge. Otherwise you are limited to meals in the diningroom.
No, it is not easy to get to town. That's the beauty of it. To go to town, they will take you on the 30-40 minute ride back to town, and then you have to return the same way. That's for the town of San Pedro. If you want to go to Belize City, You go the same way you came, either a very long boat ride or take a small aircraft. Other tours are the same way except for the reef, and that you can snorkel too. Maybe 100 yard swim. But, that is what this place is all about . Peace and quiet and snorkeling , fishing without going far.
Agree 100% with the first answer. This is the place to "escape" and "chill" - not close to town. If you want you can bring snacks and drinks and use the kitchenette (microwave & medium sized refrigerator) in the room...
