Barnsley Resort Questions & Answers

Chattanooga, Tennessee

If visiting just for a day, is it ok to use my car to get around the grounds (from ruins to restaurant)? Or will I still need to rent a golf cart? Thanks!

It is small enough to walk the grounds. Cars aren't allowed everywhere.

Unless you have a real issue walking, I would say that you don't need a cart. The walk from where you park is a short distance to the entrance of the ruins and it is all level, no hills at all. Basically you will take a stroll through the neighborhood via a sidewalk or in the greenspace up to the entrance to the ruins. The walk to the ruins is along a dirt road, again easy.

As Father Sarducci would say, it all depends. If you are in halfway decent health, you do not need a golf cart. However, if you are collecting social security checks and have a hard time walking then by all means get a golf cart....

The main part of the grounds that includes parking, restaurants, and the ruins is small. Round trip from parking to ruins is about one mile, all flat, the only stair steps are within the ruins themselves.
