When I visit a city I like to walk to visit [places of interest. Are the White House, Smithsonian museums etc within walking distance?

not walking distance, there is a company called the BIG BUG, which has 4 routes, they stop around the corner from the hotel. They have 4 routes, which include Arlington to see the Pentagon, and Arlington Natl Cemetary, they have one will circle the Smithsonian area, (sooo many buildings to this museum), they also have a route that will take you to the White House as well. Not Walkable, Unless you wish to a good long walk
