We will be staying here for 3 nights in May (coming up really soon). We have never been to Italy. If you have any good ideas for places to eat, drink, or visit in Tuscany, I would love it. We would love some quaint local places as well if you are aware of any. Thanks. Debbie
Hi Debbie, so sorry I only just saw this so am probably too late. The best thing to do is rent a car and every day visit a different village nearby - Montalcino, San Quirico d'Orcia, Cortona, etc. There are wonderful restaurants everywhere, and each place has a local wine to try. Near Villa Poggiano is an excellent place for dinner, La Grotta which is just across from the church before you go up into Montepulciano, and of course in the village there are many terrific places to eat - L'Altro Cantuccio was one, but it's hard to go wrong. A slightly longer day trip to Assisi was really lovely, and the Basilica of St Francis had beautiful frescoes and artwork etc. Hope this is helpful!
