Harry's Bar Questions & Answers

Dublin, Ireland

I read in a recent review that the €50 Euro lunch menu in Harry's Bar included a Bellini and coffee. Does anyone one know if this is true? What exactly is included in the €50 lunch menu? Between what hours is it served and is it served upstairs or downstairs? We are travelling to that area in the next few days and love if someone can clarify this.

Harrys have a €53+10% and a €60+10% set menu for lunch. The former is 3courses ( carpaccio of beef, pasta with ham in creamy sauce and then sorbet with biscuits for dessert plus delicious bread) and a bellini. The dearer menu has a long aperitif style drink, a bean soup, liver Venetian style with polenta for main and gelato for dessert. We were offered a choice of delicious cake instead of our set dessert at no extra cost. A large carafe of prosseco costs about €35. We are in the dining room upstairs where our table looked out Salute and the mouth of the grand canal. Service was excellent. Harry's bar is expensive but this is one way to sample a piece of history whilst controlling the bill! Some may say that it is a waste of money but after many visits to Venice we decided to splash out here this time. We really enjoyed it as a special treat.

I agree that it is very expensive to eat in but the €53 and €60 Euro lunch menu including thw drink was definitely printed on the restaurant menu last week. The restaurant is upstairs so there may be a bar food menu also.

The two set menus are clearly printed on the top left of the menu that we were presented in the upstairs coming room. We had asked to see the menu when we stopped in to book on the previous day. As frequent visitors to Venice we are not a bit embarrassed to check prices first as Venice prices for even a cup of coffee or drink could blow a days budget!!!

While the place is pricey, we didn't see that menu option while we were there. Sorry.

Many thanks for all your comments. With so many lovely things on our "to do list next time" it's not a priority.

I would recommend you go just for a drink. The food is average and very pricey!
