Just been informed by jet 2 that the Pelicanos pool and surrounding area will be closed during my stay in November. I booked this holiday because of the pool area and garden. Did Jet 2 know this when they took my booking in june?
Hi, we informed every tour operator as soon as we knew we have to do some maintenance at our Pelicanos terrace in August. Then tour operators give this information to future guests, and if they want they can change the booking to a different hotel. Our Ocas terrace will be fully open, being the sunniest terrace from November to March. Regards.
I am surprised that you have experienced such underhand behaviour from Jet 2. It seems that they should have been informed about the Pelicanos closure of their Pool and surroundings and the reasons for it. Now that Jet 2 has told you this rather bad new after they took your money in June is not on. You should demand your money back and re-book with another Hotel. You should also consider booking your own Holidays on line and cut out the middle man like travel agencies. You could also save yourself money. Sol Pelicanosocas Ocas is a sister hotel but right beside Pelicanos. The pool area is quieter and does not have the bar restaurant facility. It does have the bar though and a small snacks area. They may still supply meals etc though which are brought over from the Pelicanos. Email a carefully worded query to the desk.
I would suggest you get some advice from travel guy Simon Calder Rip off Britain as I think they have to give you a two months notice. Also if they are offering a change in Hotel then this might be the next option as it won't spoil your holiday. Good luck and hope this helps.
When I stayed at the hotel, I used the Ocas rather than Pelicanos pool/area and it was lovely (cold pool) but nice area, not as big as the pelicanos and very sunny
Unlikely jet 2 knew about pool closure till recently. They were doing maintenance on it last march when we were there, then opened it for Easter. Try phoning hotel for more information on closure.
The Pelicanos and ocas are side by side and depending on the time of year you are placed in one or the other so most likely you will be in the ocas with pool, which is probably why jet2 didn't inform you. This can happen to anyone going to this hotel look on their website it gives you this information.
