Stadio Santiago Bernabeu Questions & Answers

london

Hi,

I am visiting Madrid for 1 night in January.

Flying in at 10.45am and flying out at 7.30am next morning.

The game is scheduled for 2045 in the evening.

1) I need to stay in a hotel close to both the airport and the stadium (within 30 mins).

2) Also want to see the main city centre attractions, so do want to be too far away from this either.

can anyone suggest areas where I should be looking at staying please?

cheers

Hello ! I think the best option for you is to stay at the neighborhood Salamanca which is near to the center and the stadium also ! Besides at Salamanca there are a lot of cafeterias and tapas restaurants to eat ! Last but not least there are a lot of buses that pass from Salamanca to Sandiago Bernabéu! Have un bien viaje !!!

the airport is a 30 euro taxi drive to city centre so you could stay in any of the hotels in the city ,,, and the stadium is only stop 7 on the blue route with city hop on hop off bus ,, you have so much choice

Madrid is a big city but it's heart is very compact with all tourist attractions not too far away from each other. The Metro is a very easy way to get around and the metro stop 'Estadio Bernabeu' is right at the stadium itself so it doesn't matter where your hotel is so long as it's near to a metro stop. You cannot combine being close to the city centre, stadium and the airport as the airport is obviously outside of the city. However, there is a metro station at the airport so within the half hour you require, you are in the centre. If you are looking for cheap digs close enough to everything, I recommend the Las posadas de huertas hostel where I stayed. (See my report) It's half hour from the airport, 20 minutes from the stadium, and close to all attractions. It was also only £11 per night with breakfast.

I think the best you can do is go to the area of "Nuevos Ministerios" so you can get the train to the airport "Cercanias" and is not far from Santiago Bernabeu.

Salamanca would be great but I would say that you need to stay closer to metro stations. your flight is early in the morning and if you are not planning to take a taxi to the airport I would suggest to stay somewhere you can take the train to the airport becuase the metro does not run early in the morning.
