Myself and three friends are coming for two nights in August. We are coming via Eurostar from London. Can you devise the best way to get from the station to the hotel. Would a taxi be best? Also how far is it from the station? Finally how far is the hotel from the Eiffel tower? Thanks in advance.
Take the metro from the station (No 2) and jump off on Pigale station. The Hotel is down from there, so no upclimbing. Don't use the taxi, as that will be to expensive.
Eiffel tower is quite far from hotel, but easy to get there by Metro.
It is about a 10 minute walk from the Metro, but there is a slight upclimb, so you may want to keep your luggage light. Taking a cab is an alternative, but traffic usually is congested during the day. Travelling by Metro to the Tower is possible, but you just need to swtich Metros. If you have any questions about direction, the staff will help you.
Keep the baggage light and walk. It isn't far and we were charged 30-40 euros for a drive of three to four minutes. There is also a metro station close by. Look out for pollution announcements, as when we went in December the metro was free as pollution was high and cars were banned from the city.
Hotel is small, but staff were very friendly.
We walked from the gare du nord in about 15 minutes. Not sure about the Eiffel Tower but everywhere is within reach by metro or bus and Sacre Coeur and Montmartre are within 15 mins walking.
You can walk but I got a bus. Just ask at the information desk and they will tell you which one to get and what stop to get off. Think if you have a map or look it up on your phone before and take a photo of the route you can walk. Don't forget to get some metro tickets on the Eurostar and if you are going to do a big bus tour it's a good idea to get the tickets also on the Eurostar. You can pay by card which has a better exchange rate. Have a great trip.
It is walkable if your bags are not too heavy. a taxi is about 7 euros..we queued for one so saving a booking fee. If you arrive in the rush hour it will cost you loads more. it is a 5 minute walk from pigalle metro station will let you get to the tower with a change .Metro maps are available on line as are street maps of Paris. the hotel staff are helpful and will give you a basic but useful map.hope you have a great time. if you can affore it i suggest prebooking the eiffel tower, from the uk as it saves time and allows you to skip the queue.
