Staying here in August... traveling from USA... is there a pharmacy nearby where I can purchase things like toothpaste and shampoo? Will my flat iron and blow dryer work with the outlets if I bring a converter? Do they have an iron in the room to press my clothes? Thanks for any input and any other advice for my first time in Paris!!

Hi,

You've got 2 farmacies nearby, one into the station GARE DE L'EST (200m) 1min walking and another one in the big street on the left of the hotel nearby the subway station : LOUIS BLANC.

Check out Le Flunch for a cheap meal open from 11am till about 10 pm at Place de Clichy metro station No. 2 blue line. Metro station turning right outside hotel. You can also head up to Montmartre. No 2 takes you to Pere lachaise where Jim Morrison is buried. If you go to the gatehouse you can pickbup a map wherr all the famous people are buried. The No. 2 also takes you to Champs Elysees11. This city is best seen walked if you can. Hope this helps

Yes, there is a pharmacy on the train station on the same block. You will use your flat iro with a converter. There is a blow drier in the room. There is a supermarket about a little bit more than a mile, too... The location is good!

Don't know about a pharmacy , but there is a laundrette about 100m north of the hotel for washing clothes and straight across the road is a kebab shop and a patisserie that both had nice food.....

the hotel sits on top of a metro station and if memory serves me just up the rue du fauberg Saint Martin there is a supermarket which should have tooth paste and shampoo...

your stuff should work with an power adapter ....

it may also be worth purchasing a Paris train pass from the tourist bureau ( located near the opera metro stop, which is a five min walk from the louvre)........

the easiest way into Paris from the airport is by the train which will take you to the gate du Nord station, we then walked to the hotel, it took us about 8-10 minutes ( train cost is, I think , 10 euro.)
