Can I use my standard road bike on the Greenway, or is it more geared to mountain bikes?

Yes you can - the surface is a fine black sand based track and mainly road bikes are rented rather than mountain bikes so you should be fine.

The road surface is Tarmac for almost the entire length, so a mountain bike is not necessary.

Road bike/hybrid would be perfect. Would not recommend a racing bike.

Yes you can use your own bike. Alternatively you can hire a bike and there are very flexible arrangements for hiring bikes. The greenway surface is good for bikes, just some small hills along the way, nothing too demanding.

Yes. The track is good condition. Not tarmac but packed stone with fine grain surface. No major potholes. Probably not suit high grade racing bike but city bike etc would be fine. No real hills so minimal gearing needed. Just make sure you are not cycling into the wind!!! Check weather forecast and adjust. Fantastic trip. Enjoy!
