Possibly visiting Dublin 4/5 November for suprise birthday. Would like to see the zoo - how easy is it to get from airport to zoo and a mid price hotel nearby to have an overnight stay. Thanks xx

Hi Lynda, as everybody said probably the best thing to do would be to take the Airlink 747 (the green bus) from the Airport and get off in Hueston Station (would be last stop) and then walk to the zoo. About the hotel I agree that the Aishling hotel would be the closest.

Good hotel nearby is Ashling hotel

both replies above are true - can take air coach from airport to O Connell St then Luas from abbey street to Heuston station or museum stop (will pass hotel) and walk to zoo.

Can book zoo fast track online

You could take the bus from Dublin airport to Dublin Heuston station (line airlink 747 Dublin airport) and from there the zoo is very near. You walk and you'll be there in 15 minutes.

We stayed at the Mespil Hotel, which was centrally located. I believe that the Dublin Hop-On, Hop-Off bus makes a stop at the zoo, if you are interested in seeing more of the city as well.

Thank you all. Have booked flights and gone for croke park hotel - booked as a deal but hope the busses go there too! Think we will see the zoo on day one, with a walk along the Liffey/food/music etc in evening, and day two will be maybe museum, waxworks, castle combo before flight back. Looking forward to it and hope weather is kind! X
