Bythesea Questions & Answers

Hi, planning to book for my 25th wedding anniversary next year, so it needs to be a special one! Looking for a sea view with as little noise as possible, so am I better off going for a higher floor, any block in particular? Also, if we go for the Breakfast option only, are there plenty of nice restaurants around locally for dinner?

Hi there. By the Sea is a fantastic guest house. The sea views are only partial though to the side but it's seconds from the lovely sea front.

It's only munutes from the Town with lots of eating places.

Best wishes

We didn't actually have a sea view and I don't know if that is possible as the B&B is at right angles to the shoreline as far as I remember...there may be a better option nearby...but the owners are extremely helpful and the brekkie is to die for,,,

we went to the Pioneer pub in Prestwick on a Tues night for the steak special...great food and nice ambience..ther are plenty of other options nearby...Ayr is dead as a doornail on a Monday night as many pubs and restaurants don't see it as worthwhile to open on that night from Tues on it may be better..sorry I can't be of more help but it is a very nice part of the world...

We had a room on the top floor (room 2) which looked out on the back of hotel and had coombed ceilings. I am not tall. 5' 2" and I had to duck. There are a row of houses between Bythesea and the sea, so do not know if a sea view is available

There are nice restaurants about a 10 minute walk into town. i can recommend The Tree House and Ceccini's.

Phone the owners they are extremely helpful.

Hello there.

We stayed on the top floor of the main block (room 2) it has low ceilings, good size modern bathroom (no bathtub), comfortable bed. It did feel a tad cosy due to the low ceiling. We didn't really have much of a view but I'm sure you could request for a room facing the sea? The owner was extremely helpful and does know where to dine in the area. I'm afraid we didn't eat out during our stay as we stayed for the night but we drove past many lovely looking restaurants/bar in the town. It was very quiet on the seafront when we went in December.

Sorry couldn't be helpful!
